Personal Reflection (NEwater visit)

1. What are the 3 key takeaways from today’s visit?

I had learn about how to NEWater is made, the various types of water resource for Singapore and importance of NEWater

2. Name 2 concepts that you have learnt today during the visit.

The concepts of how water pass through both layers to be filtered and what and why is IPU important.

3. What is the 1 interesting thing that you have learnt today?

The most interesting thing is that NEWater is only for sampling,I repeat sampling.

4. What are the things that you can do to help with water conservation in Singapore?

I think that we can reuse the water from washing the rice to water the plants, We can also use less water when applying soap do not let the shower continue flowing.

1. What are the 3 key takeaways from today’s lesson?

For the three things I have learn is that for each product or design,we must have 'insert' the fun theory in it so as to attract people.Next,I also learnt that when we come up with an idea,we must be creative, not to have other people's idea and have a mindset of the consumer. Finally,I have learnt that even if we had the idea and design,we must also a wide range of information so as to come up with the idea.

2. Name 2 concepts that you have learnt today pertaining to design and describe why is it important in design?

I have learnt that all our products must be unique,so that it stands out within the products. It also must think for the others not just for the benefits for your marks or teacher say then you create it.It must be applicable in this time and useful.

3. What is the 1 interesting thing that you have learnt today?

I think it was we had to have both information and a unique design to have a good proposal.

Difference between Isometric, Oblique and Orthographic Drawing

From Wikipedia.com
For Isometric reflecting that the scale along each axis of the projection is the same and it can also be seen in 3D screen editor.

For Oblique
it can mean perpendicular, not straightforward, indirect or obscure.

For Orthographic projection (or orthogonal projection) is a means of representing a three dimensional object in two dimensions. It is a form of parallel projection, where the view direction is orthogonal to the projection plane, resulting in every plane of the scene appearing in affine transformation on the viewing surface. It is further divided into multiview orthographic projections and axonometric pictorials.

From Mac dictionary

Isometric1 of having equal dimensions.2 (in technical or architectural drawing) incorporating a method of showing projection or perspective in which the three principal dimensions are represented by three axes 120° apart.3 Mathematics (of a transformation) without change of shape or size.
Obliqueneither parallel nor at a right angle to a specified or implied line
Orthographic method of projection in which an object is depicted or a surface mapped using parallel lines to project its shape onto a plane.

Definition of theme - Environment

From mac book dictionary:
1.The surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates.
For example: Hippopotamus living in near rivers so as to cope with the hot temperatures in the South Africa and to cool down in the mud or river.

2.The natural world, as a whole or in a particular geographical area, esp. as affected by human activity.
It is which most people think of about environment.

From :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_environment
A desktop environment typically consists of icons, windows, toolbars, folders, wallpapers, and desktop widgets.
Software which provides a desktop environment might also provide drag and drop functionality and other features which make the desktop metaphor more complete. On the whole, a desktop environment is to be an intuitive way for the user to interact with the computer using concepts which are similar to those used when interacting with the physical world, such as buttons and windows.
While the term desktop environment originally described a style of user interfaces following the desktop metaphor,it has also come to describe the programs that provide the metaphor itself.(Words in bold is the key words)
For example:The Microsoft computer always have a desktop to put things like folders and icons etc.
From:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment_(biophysical)

The biophysical environment is the symbiosis between the physical environment and the biological life forms within the environment, and includes all variables that comprise the Earth's biosphere.
The biophysical environment can be divided into two categories: the natural environment and the built environment, with some overlap between the two. Following the industrial revolution, the built environment has become an increasingly significant part of the Earth's environment.(Words in bold is the key words)
From this i can tell that there are also the natural and built environment, for example a rain forest is a natural environment while a city is a built environment. Overlap environment will be most of Singapore parks and garden.

To conclude, i think that environments are places that people, plants and animals live in and there is also different types of environment like built, natural or both and that the computer desktop is also an environment.

ADMT-Environment

This is my sketch.
It is about when there there are no A.D.M.T,there will be n designs for the spectacles and there will be no new banners so they will continue with the old banner. Also the lights are 'very' dim and every one is very gloomy as there is no art pieces to liven things up.

What does ADMT means to you?
I think that ADMT means using the future and present technologies and equipment to make a plan to do a form of art with these equipment used.
What are the attitude that an ADMT student should have?
To me,we need to be able to think out of the box,be creative and not to relax while doing this,be serious.
What are you aspiration as an ADMT student?
I hope that from here i could learn how to make some designs better and help make it more attractive.
How do you think you can achieve your aspiration?
I can achieve it by concentrating on the lessons, taking down key points and hand in my work nicely done.
